Hello guys my name is Hoang Son and today I will be the person who beside you and release interesting writing about my own Making Media journey!
Today I will tell you my first experience ever in making and producing podcast!
Sounds really attractive huh? Are you ready?
If yes, seat back, relax and enjoy the show!
This podcast required me to complete in team, so I did choose a team with 3 different characteristic but talented friends.
First thing first, we all have to choose a topic right? My team felt a bit hard to make final decision for topic. Interestingly, I realized that there is a unique coffee shop in Hanoi that I've been to several time and truly enjoy its coffee and the coffee shop’s story. After considering pros and cons of different topics, my team decided to choose that cafe which roasts coffee by burning woods to make the podcast.
We had the idea of making podcast in the live studio with reporters and interviews with coffee shop owner and we really did it. Sounds really professional and interesting huh? Of course!
Here come the most interesting part!
We had the first chance ever to borrow and use the Zoom recorder. At first I thought that "Zoom" is the online conference app haha. But actually it's a professional equipment that used to record efficiently. Using the Zoom was quite hard because it's not like other recordings software in our phone. However, with the dedicated instruction of Mrs Linda - our beloved teacher and with our own discovery, I have used to record our podcast easily.
Then here is the most challenging part!
To be honest, none of us has used the audio editing program before. However, we have to get used to it and get familiar with using the "Audacity". Then, somehow it was not that hard. It was just take a lot of time when we choosing a file and upload then reorder it. Yeah a bit time-consuming haha, but it was a lot of fun. Choosing sounds effect, reducing noise, editing files to files,... that was more than interesting. This experience we could never have if we hadn't studied Making Media course.
After releasing the first draft, I and my team change a bit about the roles play and edited once more to make the podcast sounds more engaging and professional.
I still remember Mrs Linda once said to us that: "Do you want to make a podcast or a video?" and all of us said: "Video"
and she answered: "You have watched and made videos a multitude of time, we should make the thing that we have never ever think about before, and That's making media, that's Professional Communication".
